Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter Josephine of a lab technician and John Ormond (a stockbroker) from Epsom, Surrey. She is the fifth of five children to her parents. Her first performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. She went on to Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After one year of arts school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988. Ormond made her first appearance on British TV's 1989 show Traffik. The show was about illicit heroin trade between the Far East as well as the streets of Europe. Ormond played the heroin addicted daughter of the lead character who was a Home Office minister working to combat the importation of heroin. It was the first time Ormond had a role and received glowing reviews.
